Zach Park is a fourth year apprentice glazier out of Local 751 finishing up his in-class instruction. Prior to joining DC 57, Zach worked customer service jobs, living paycheck to paycheck. Since joining Glaziers LU 751, Zach has been able to learn valuable trade skills at no cost while earning a family-sustaining wage. He’s much happier with his career choice, which allows him to do things he likes: work outside, travel around the area, and see new western PA sights.
Zach spoke about the sense of pride and brotherhood the union provides. When working so closely with union brothers and sisters, everyone gets more invested in each other’s lives, developing deeper connections with coworkers.
When asked what he would say to someone interested in entering the union finishing trades, Zach said “do it, it’s 100% worth it. As long as you have the desire to better your life it will definitely help you and it feels good to achieve your goal.”
